Evo One, 2019 Mazda CX5 Concerns

I just installed the Evo One in my 2019 CX5. I should be on the latest FW but can't recall the version number at this time. Couple of things I noticed: 1) The TPMS light is ON when remote start is activated; it goes away once I do the take over. Im ok with that but is there a fix for that. 2) "Mazda cruise control disabled under 20mph" I just learned, in forums, that this is a "known" issue. Itwas suggested to update to FW ver 85.11, does this address the issue with the error? 3) Hood open and remote start concern. I did not install the hood pin switch, but considering that I should. Just learned last night that the car DOES allow to autostart with the hood open. On my other vehicles, with Evo One, it won't autostart with the hood open. Thoughts?

Can the hood switch be reversed?

On my 2018 Mazda CX-9 the OEM hood switch connects to ground when the hood is closed and is an open circuit when the hood is open. If I connect this (using the THAR-ONE-MAZ3 harness) to the Fortin EVO-ONE, I will only be able to remote start with the hood open, as the Fortin is expecting a ground with the hood open and an open circuit with the hood closed. Is there a way to flash the Fortin EVO-ONE such that it will work with my stock hood switch? I do not want to drill a hole and run a new wire for a second hood switch.

What does the hood pin connect to on the vehicle?

I have an '07 Accord and see that the hood pin is listed to be connected to pin A15 on the Evo One. My kit did not come with a hood pin but I would like to install a manual switch inside the cabin to toggle off when performing maintenance on the vehicle. My question is this: If I connect pin A15 to one pole on the switch where does the other lead go? To a ground point in the vehicle or is there another pin that it needs to go back in to?

Hood pin being ignored?

I have installed a EVO ONE in to my vehicle and everything is working great. The only issue I have is that the hoodpin safety feature is not working. When I have the hood open the car will still remote start. I have double checked the grounding of the hood pin and made sure that the hoodpin is enabled in the software. Everything is up to date and has been re-flashed. Any ideas on what might be causeing this?

wired hood trigger and can-bus in Evo-One

SmartStart2 can show the status of doors, trunk and hood. Unfortunetely, 2019 Nissan NV200 doesn't have OEM hood triger, so i wired pink/black A15 hood trigger and it kinda works, but it's reported as a DOOR. There's an option A11 - Hood Trigger in bypass module, should it be ON or OFF? Doesn't seem to make any difference Or, is it possibile to wire the hood triger straight into BCM? i can't find it Not a big deal, just wondered if it was ever designed to report as a HOOD at all

FAQ: How do I know/how to test if my vehicle has an OEM alarm.

Just figured I would post this as I have often been asked...

" How do I know/how to test if my vehicle has an OEM alarm?"

Really simple to check, perform the following test:.

1- Put down the drivers window.

2- Ensure all doors are closed, including the hood and trunk.

3- Lock the vehicle using the OEM remote.

4- Wait between 45-60 seconds after you have locked the vehicle to allow the system to arm itself.

5- Once you have waited the time period reach inside the drivers door and open the drivers door from the inside handle. (basically replicating someone trying to steal your belongings/vehicle).

6- At this point your alarm will either go off or it won't, answering the question if your vehicle is equipped with a factory alarm!

Side note: good way to also test to see if your vehicle has a factory hood pin that is part of the alarm system is to do the above test but instead of opening the door first, reach in and pull the hood release latch. (useful on newer Mazda vehicles with factory hood pins that are part of the OEM alarm). If no alarm goes off, then open the drivers door. If the alarm goes off when you open the drivers door and not when you open the hood. Then this answers your question if the factory hood pin is part of the alarm system.

Wire/wires for Valet Switch

EVO-CHART4 Stand Alone / T-Harness.. 2015 Town & Country... For the Hood/Valet Switch - is this a single wire hook up? For the switch should the hood pin wire(A8) go to one terminal on the switch and the other terminal be grounded? OR should the 2nd terminal use the external input wire(A13)? I assume grounded...
