Cannot program EVO ALL - blue light goes out with ignition on

Howdy, I cannot program my EVO ALL for a 2014 Audi A3. I have used guide #3035 connection 1. I have the two CAN bus wires connected to the convenience CAN twisted pair under the steering column (both read ~2.5v with ignition on) and the yellow wire on the 20 pin connector connected to +12v ignition. I plug the unit in and enter programming mode with solid blue light, but when I turn on the ignition the light turns off. The troubleshoot guide here suggested the CAN hi/low are reversed. Despite knowing the hi/low was correct I switched them over and retested with same result. I've checked that I'm getting ~2.5v right up to the back of the 5pin connector. Anyone have any suggestions why the EVO ALL isn't detecting a CAN bus signal? Thanks, Jeremy

AUDI?S3 2015 PTS

I'm a person in a Japanese car shop. I'm going to install it in "AUDI S3 2015 model  PTS  Right-hand drive (the Japanese specification)" using EVOALL.     All wiring was connected while referring to guide #30001.   Both of HARDWARE VERSION and FIRMWARE VERSION are set as guidance. Program bypass option "D6" is set.   But PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE  An LED is blue with step 4, and it doesn't flash on and off. Blue light-emitting diode goes out. And blue light-emitting diode is always in the state of the lighting up in IGN OFF state.   I'm in trouble. Can't I have some advice?     Everything has an installation experience in VOLKSWAGEN Golf GTI 2015 PTS before, and is successful with no problem on a guide street. I think there are also no link mistakes of wiring this AUDI S3 from the experience.

Audi A3 Yellow Ignition + Airbag

Hello, following the instructions through the Fortin & wire-colour sites, the yellow ignition wire connection is under the steering column. The picture on wire-colour shows the airbag controller dissasembled. The airbag module on the A3 is sealed with a caution sticker suggesting that the airbag must be disabled before disasembling - I can't find instructions on your site or wire-colour for disabling the airbag, and neither site specify that work is required around the airbag controller. I'm aware that airbag capacitors carry a charge even after the battery is disconnected, and I attempted to disconnect the ingition harnes and gain access to the yellow wire without messing with the airbag controller, but since the ignition wires pass through behind it, it seems impossible to access the wire and make that connection without dissasembling the airbag controller - I abandoned installation at this point as I could not find a safe way to proceed. Even without disassembling the airbag controller, the air bag warning is now lit in the dash and will need to be cleared - it must have sensed that I was poking around. Since airbags are both expensive and critical for safety, can you provide more detail on steps to access the yellow ignition wire, and how to disable the airbag without risking firing it, or accidentaly breaking it/permanently disabling it? Thanks, Rob

Stop working Audi A3 2011

I install evo-all and a remote starter in a 2011 Audi a3. It works fine. 2 days after the remote doesn't work anymore. I tried it and manage to make it works with the key near the cylinder. Can the evo-all loose its key programation ? Can i see what is wrong looking at the colored led on the EVO-ALL. Should i reset it and reprogrammed it? Do i need to plug it back to the flash-link programmer? Thank you

Audi A5 PTS

Hello,

I will be installing the EVO-ALL in my 2014 Audi A5 which has push to start and the keyport using the guide 72791.

I want to confirm a few things prior to wiring anything up in the vehicle.

Pin A16 - This is not needed in my instance correct? I spoke with Crutchfield support who says this is for an external (secondary) ignition use and is not required to be hooked up in my case.  If it is needed can you give details where this should be connected? Is there an option when using the RF642W that will enable the rear defroster as one of the aux outputs?

Thanks for your help,

Brandon

Evo All 2010 Audi S4

Hi, just installed an evo all into an 2010 S4 with PTS using the new transponder bypass installation guide. After decrypting the key and reconnecting the module, the vehicle started via 3x lock perfectly and performed take over, after the second test the vehicle kicked over then turned off and attempted a second restart without any success. After this the module doesn’t respond to 3x lock at all. Any ideas?? Module still has power and can activity thank you Paul Starter 7.1.16 evo 2.4.18 date 02 2016

2014 audi a5 with push start. is the evo one the only piece i need to install remote start?

In the directions it looks like I need to leave a key attached inside the car to the unit. will the car start if someone breaks in considering it is push button? I am concerned if someone breaks into the car, it will be able to be started because there will be a key inside at all times.

Some questions regarding +12V connection, fuse size, etc. ('14 A6)

Just a couple of questions on a '14 A6 install (EVO ONE + MyCar smartphone). The two +12V wires (E3 & D3) are to be connected at the OBD-II harness. Since this is a faily low current application so I'm wondering what the appropriate size fuse should be. Nothing in the quide regarding fuse size. In a few of the low-current EVO-ALL installs they specify a 5A fuse, would that be suitable here too? On the same topic, I imagine the OBD-II wires would likely be thin-gauge, (EDIT: +12V looks like 18gauge from the guide photo)... It looks like the E3 wire is 14g. Since this is a low-current application, I'd like to step it down to a smaller gauge so it's not such a bulky connection at the OBD-II +12v wire. How small could I adequetly go on that? One last question: Does the EVO-ONE provide power & ground to the MyCar smartphone addon through the data connector? They have optional power & ground wires for modules that don't provide power... Just want to get an idea before going into the install.

OEM alarm challenges - EVO -ONE on 2010 Audi S5

I have an EVO-ONE installed in my 2010 Audi S5. I am using it as an alarm and a remote-start w/ bypass. Most everything works fine. However, when we open a door via the exterior door handle, while having the OEM remote/proximity unit on our person, the alarm sounds when we open the door. But, if we disarm the system using a remote control before opening the door, the alarm of course does not go off. Is there a setting in the EVO-ONE that we need to change in order for the alarm to turn-off when we use the OEM function of unlocking and disarming by pulling the door handle while the OEM remote on our person? Or is this not possible? Thank you, Sean

Fortin Evo-All 2011 Audi A3

I'm trying to do a standalone installation of the EVO-ALL on a 2011 Audi A3. All of the wires are connected correctly and I made sure they are making a good connection. I held the prgramming button down and the lights started alternating. I relaesed the button when only the blue LED was lit. I then plugged in the 20 pin, connector, followed by the 6 pin connector, followed by the 5 pin connector. The LED remained blue throughout this process. I then turned the ignition to on. The bule LED went out, then started flasing after a few seconds. I turned the ignition off and the blue LED went out. When I press the factory remote 3X to start the vehicle, the lights flash and the dash lights come on, but it doesn't try to start. It does the same thing a second time and then the EVO-ALL turns off. However, if I sit inside the vehicle and press the brake, it will start the car, but it only runs for 1 or 2 seconds before shutting down. On this particular vehicle, although it uses the regular keyed ignition switch, you still have to press the brake to start the vehicle. Is there another connection that needs to be made for this to work properly? Thank you, Jason

Evo all doesn't remote start the car

I have got an Evo all installed on a Audi A4 2012 PTS I think everything is connected correctly according to the guide. the car starts normaly but when I try to remote start it the yellow light goes on and the car does not start. The module should be programmed correctly as the blue LED started flashing rapidly after programming . could you please tell me what to check. I have installed it as stand alone installation with 3x lock option and no RF kit. Thanks Mohsen

What EVO I need to remote start 2009 Audi Q5 Push to Start

Hello, I have a 2009 Audi Q5 Push to Start (regular key fob, not "smart key"). All I want to do is use the factory remote to remote start the car (three "lock" button presses). I don't need any other functionality. It looks like the EVO-One and EVO-All are both compatible. But I can't tell the real difference between these two. For the Audi Q5 2009 PTS, which one do I need? What's the difference between the two?

2012 Audi A4 PTS won't start

Everything connected correctly,I assume. The only thing I couldn't tell from the diagram and the pictures is the black ignition wire behind the fuse panel. The picture from wire diagrams had the pin pointing at nothing and was no description of which harness the wire is coming from. I looked through all the harnesses and found one giant black wire, which I assume is the ignition, so I connected to it. audi requires the key port and emergency key to be wrapped, so I wrapped 3 times around the key port and 10 times around the emergency key and have them in close proximity behind the dash all other functions of the evo one work with the fort in RF kit, except ignition during remote start. It is an automatic, so I cut the jumper loop. The unit programmed correctly, and the remotes programmed correctly as well. edit. I verified that the ignition cable behind the fuse panel is correct. I also tried remote start with a fob in the ignition and it worked, so it's gotta be the emergency key and key port wiring deal. I have the key port wrapped 4 times and the key wrapped 10 times. I've redone this 3 to 4 times and still can't get it to work. I verified the emergency key works in the dummy fob,and it works. I can't actually get the key port out of the car, so I'm wrapping it while it's in its harness, but pushing the wire as far as I can to the front of the key port. I'm using a solid copper 22 gauge wire.

2012 q5 PTS with viper remote starter

I have a 2012 audi q5 with a pre installed viper remote starter. It functions correctly but I would like to ditch the viper fob and use the OEM for 3x lock start. Is there a fortin module that will recognize 3x lock and send a negative trigger signal to start via the viper unit?

Evo-All - Trunk randomly opens

Hello, About a month ago I installed a standalone remote starter in a 13' Audi A6. Everything seems to be working fine but twice now I have gone out to my car in the morning and the trunk has been open. The first time this happened it was not a big deal as I was parked in my garage. The second time it happened was when it was parked overnight in an apartment parking lot. Luckily nothing was stolen. Has anyone ever experienced this? At first I thought I might have accidently pressed the trunk button on the fob, but I have had the car for 2 years and have not had that happen a single time until the Evo-All was installed. The car was unlocked in my garage when it happend first, and locked in the parking lot when it happened the second time. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Zack

How does the Remote start work with a smart key and push to start? I'm concerned that the functionality will not work with the keyless entry anymore and the factory security system will be defeated with the valet key hidden?

2 pin wire harness for EVO-ALL key-wrap transponder bypass for 2004 Audi A4

Hello,

Which EVO-ALL 2 pin (White) wire harness do I need for bypassing the transponder of 2004 Audi A4.  I am using guide # 3035.  The guide says to use the 2 pin wire harness to wrap the key and key barrell to bypass the transponder system.  However, EVO-ALL does not come with this 2 pin wire harness.  Is this 2 pin wire harness sold separately?

Also,I read in another post that you can use the white/red and white/blue of the red 6 pin connector instead of the 2 pin wire harness. (see below).

Thanks.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The post/question title is ``TRANSPONDER LOOP FOR EVO-ALL AVAILABILITY``  (http://fortin.ca/en/qa/43803/transponder-loop-for-evo-all-availability)

- Instead cutting your led connector to connect to evoall 2 pin connector, you can use white/red and white/blue of the red 6 pin connector which will do the exact same thing in applications where the 2 pin connector is used.
