Car won't start after installing EVO-ALL - 2008 G35

Hi guys, I just installed the EVO ALL with T-Harness into a 2008 PTS Infiniti G35. It wouldn't start the car after installation so I reset the unit and reflashed and now the LEDs respond differently (blue flashes on unlock, red and yellow come on then red and blue if i recall). The car won't crank though. Any ideas? service #001A06 556476 I verified continuity to the brown wire on the start button. I'm at a loss. Thanks! Bob **edit** so i went back and apparently the 08 g35 isn't compatible with the lock lock lock feature but the literature didn't seem entirely clear that it wasn't so in the end I need to install the DSM300 telematics unit, which is fine since I have it sitting here already. The weird thing is that the blue light flashes when I lock the door so clearly the unit sees the door lock get pinged from the CANBUS. Does anyone know why the 3x lock doesn't it work?

FAQ: How do I reset my EVO-ALL?

The master reset is very simple on the EVO-ALL, but be warned that a reset will also reset all the options back to default if Settings Protection was not enabled. So if you have any special options enabled (such as the all famous D1 and C1 for 3x lock start), or if the vehicle programming requires the use of the DCryptor, make sure that you have access to the Flash-Link Manager!


So here it is...

    Hold down programming button while plugging in datalink connector. Let go of button when LED is RED. Push and hold button again until all three LEDs start to alternate. Disconnect unit, it is now reset.

What is the Best option for Bluetooth Kit

What kit would u reccomend for bluetooth remote start / Door unlock ? I did not want the smart start due to paying for a service fee. Would really like to use the bluetooth kit. I know there is a couple by DEI, Viper ,Drone did not know which one would work best with this system?

FAQ - Getting Started - Data-Link FAQ

What is data-link?
Data-link is a high speed data communication link used between more than one after-market electronic device. These devices include remote-starters, alarm systems, GPS and telematics devices, and immobilizer bypass or interface module(s). The data-link protocol uses the EIA (Electronic Industries Association) RS-232 serial connection and communication standard. This is the exact same communication standard used with USB, which allows various electronic devices to communicate with each other. In our case, it allows the remote-starter or alarm-system and the immobilizer bypass or interface module(s) to share a variety of different information.

 

What benefits are there when using data-link?
Using the data-link port to link communication between the after-market remote-starter or alarm-system and an immobilizer bypass or interface module reduces the amount of wiring required in 2 ways. First it reduces the amount of redundant wiring required for both devices. Instead of having to manually connect an ignition wire to both devices, using the data-link port will only require you to connect the ignition wire to one device, which will share the ignition status (ON/OFF) through the data-link port to the other connected device(s). Secondly it reduces the amount of wiring by not requiring analog connections in a networked vehicle. Many of the vehicles functions can be read by receiving and controlled by sending data on the vehicles data-bus (eg J1850, CAN, etc.). Our immobilizer bypass and interface modules offer control over a variety of different functions on thousands of different vehicles and can send and receive data on the vehicles data-bus through instructions from the data-link port. This normalizes the communication and allows an after-market remote-starter or alarm-system to send and receive data from the vehicle without having to manually connect an analog wire to the vehicle for every possible function.

 

Reducing the amount of wiring required for the installation not only simplifies the installation and saves time, but it also reduces the chances of installation error and fewer possible points of failure due to cold solder joints and corrosion.

 

What is the difference between 1-way and 2-way data-link?
The 1-way data-link port allows a remote-starter or alarm-system to send commands to an immobilizer bypass or interface module. This includes such commands as GWR status, door-lock, door-unlock and much more. The 2-way data-link is an extension to the 1-way data-link protocol by allowing the module to send numerous different statuses from the vehicle back to the remote-starter or alarm-system. This includes such statuses as door-pin, hood-pin, tachometer RPM and much more.

 

What Fortin products support data-link?
All of our data modules support data-link. All of these modules are listed in the "Affected Products" list at the top of this page. You can also manually check the features section of any of our products to determine if the module supports the 1-way protocol, 2-way protocol, or both.

 

Does data-link work with DEI's D2D or DBI?
Data-Link is the protocol that works all after market remote starters and alarm systems. Moreover, we include all necessary conexions to these products. Therefore, Data-Link is compatible with D2D, DEI and DBI protocols.

Is data-link extensible?
Absolutely. The protocol has been extended numerous times to include various new features and functionality and there is still plenty of room for future enhancements as we continue to release new products and firmware with features that simplify after-market installation.

 

Why does my module have more than one data-link port?
Some of our immobilizer bypass and interface modules have more than one data-link port in order to allow you to use more than one module on the data-link bus by daisy-chaining them together. Although chaining together multiple devices in this manner appears to be in series, the data-link bus is in fact a parallel network, so you can achieve the same result by splicing into a data-link cable and create a T-harness with more than one cable.

 

What if my remote-starter or alarm-system does not support data-link?
All of our data-link modules can still be wired manually if the remote-starter or alarm-system you are installing it with does not support data-link. Every immobilizer bypass and interface module can be wired manually so it remains compatible with all brands of after-market remote-starters and alarm systems. However, since some of modules support more functions than there are wires available on its plugs, some of the less common features may only be available through data-link. When this is the case we try to make the most common features available on the plug as a wired input or output to offer the broadest range of support.

 

How do I troubleshoot a problem with data-link?
Since the data-link port handles most of the signals that a wired input or output would traditionally handle, it becomes difficult to troubleshoot the communication between the devices when a problem occurs. Because of this we provide the TEST-LINK 2-way data-link tester. It has 2 data-link ports and connects between the remote-starter or alarm-system and the immobilizer bypass or interface module. It allows the installer to verify 7 different input commands (Foot Brake, Tach, Overrev, Hood, Door, Trunk, Hand Brake) and has a button which sends a LOCK output.

Adding Aftermarket Passive Keyless Entry to installed EVO-ALL and Crimestopper RS00G5

Solved, thanks everyone! Read through the entire thread for solution/method.

 

I would like to install the DEI 2101t Passive Keyless Entry to my 2012 Toyota Camry with G Key that already has the EVO-ALL and Crimestopper RS00G5 installed.

I'm wondering if there will be any conflicts and if it's possible to use the included D2D connection on the DEI 2101t to the EVO-ALL to simplify the installation so I don't have to use analog. Page 19 of the manual linked below includes information on the D2D and analog wiring.

Also in the install manual it has output connections to the vehicle called "(+) Door Sense" and "(-) Door Sense". Are those the Lock Motor(red, pin 18) or Unlock Motor(gray, pin 12) wires in the driver kick panel Or maybe the Keysense (white, pin 17) wire in the Main Body ECU?

RF642W and Evo One Settings

Hello I want to use a RF642W RF Kit with my EVO One. In the remote start side, what do I set my option to. Is it Fortin FM or Fortin AM or Fortin 2. Thanks in advance. Pat Lynch

Door lock control from Compustar remote does not work when remote started

It seems my original post was lost.

I have an evo-all configured with a compustar cm7200s + drone. Everything works as expected except the following.

- Doors will not lock/unlock with Compustar remote is the vehicle is remote started / Subaru remote works

- Auto lock on ignition or tach does not work if remote started

I have checked all wires as instructed and they are all correct.

Currently the Lt Blue & White/Red (A20 & D6) are connected to the connector side of the cut door lock data wire and the White/Green (D4) is connected to the other side of the cut wire.

Remote start does not work on Altima 2012

I'm having a strange issue with my EVO-NIS1 remote starter, I initially installed the kit without connecting the parking light wire, the remote starter worked well for 2 days. I woke up in the morning and the car battery was dead, I jumped the car but the remote starter stopped working, I checked the wiring and everything seemed fine, i reprogrammed the EVO with the flash link and reconnected the wires and did the programming as I did initially. The problem that I faced is not seeing any red or blue lights, It got stuck at the steady yellow (step 4). the car still works fine but without the remote starter which is still installed, the only time the remote start worked is when i was in the car already. I went back to connect the parking light and tried to program it again but i still got stuck at the steady yellow light. I don't know what to do to get passed step 4. Please help. Thanks.

FAQ: How to program 3x Lock Start on the EVO-ONE

    That guide covers basic option setting for 3x Lock Start on Automatic vehicles. If your vehicle is Manual/Standard transmission, you will also have to enable option 33.2. Flash-Link Updater REQUIRED

Quick Run down.

The EVO-ONE has two sets of options. There are options for the remote starter portion while there are also options for the bypass portion of the unit. The remote starter options are used mainly for convenience features such as enabling 3x lock start, alarm functions, cold timers etc... while the bypass options are there to set various DATA / Can-Bus features such as the all important OEM Remote Monitoring.

 

To toggle between remote starter and bypass options (and firmware updates) via the Flash-Link Manager, you must press the TOGGLE button in the flash-link manager program while the unit is disconnected. There is a text on the bottom right corner that will tell you if you are in Connection Mode : Bypass or Connection Mode : Remote Starter.

 

While Connection Mode : Remote Starter is active, go to the EVO-ONE Options tab and enable the following option(s).

    Option 38.2 - Enable 3x Lock Start (this tells the remote starter that it will be controlled via the oem remote commands detected and then sent via the integrated bypass module) Option 33.2 - Enable this option only if you have a manual transmission vehicle. While here, if the vehicle specific install guide also mentions other required options, please set them now. Don't forget to SAVE OPTIONS.

 

While Connection Mode : Bypass is active,

    First, make sure you have selected and flashed the unit to the latest firmware for your vehicle. You will find the latest firmware under the EVO-ONE Updates tab. Go to EVO-ONE Options Scroll through the options and enable Option C1 - OEM Remote Monitoring (this option allows the bypass portion to actually monitor the oem remotes so that the previous 38.2 option can actually work). Attention! Please leave all the A1-A11 options untouched unless told otherwise. Don't forget to SAVE OPTIONS

I would like to inquire if the EVO-START cellular control is compatiable with USA federal requirements. I'm purchusing a EVO-NIST1 and would love the ability to use my smart phone as a starting device. However, I cannot locate any product information concerning if this device is universal or only for Canada. Can I use a dual stage proximity sensor with the EVO ONE?

I have an EVO ONE installed in my 2010 Audi S5 and have successfully used it as a remote start and an alarm for some time now. SInce it is a convertible, I decided I would like to add a proximity sensor. I purchased an Omega AU-94TM dual zone radar sensor. I have hooked up the 12V and the ground to the 3-pin connector on the EVO ONE. And I have hooked up the external trigger to the middle wire on the EVO ONE 3-pin connector. However, I can't seem to the proximity sensor to trigger the EVO ONE alarm even with the settings on the sensor set to maximum sensitivity. Do I need to hook both the internal and external proximity sensors up to the EVO ONE 3-pin middle wire (with diodes to prevent feedback) for the dual stage sensor ro trigger an alarm?

Evo One master reset

How do I master reset my ax one. The box was somewhat DOA and after like 10 flashes it at least started to respond where the park light will flash and the valet button would actually affect it when in the ign. I have a feeling the module is jacked up so I want to master reset everything.

LED color description?

I apparently programmed evo all succescully... Flshing lue led and all. Now whe i click the lock the blue led blinks as i do it. Then nothing happens. I use the key to start the car and yellow comes on and stay on till the car is off. Is this ok. What it means? Thanks .

Flash-Link Updater is only detected by FlashLink Manager in FLU mode?

Software: FlashLink Manager 4.36; Windows 10 Pro x64 version 1809 Hardware: Flash-Link Updater Ver.4, firmware 4.03 FlashLink Manager will not detect my Updater, unless I attempt to initiate a firmware update. Following that process, the firmware update gets stuck at 1%, so nothing happens. Canceling the update just puts me back to square one, with FL Manager stating that it is unable to detect the FL Updater. The red power light is on, indicating proper power, and I have tried multiple USB ports and cables, even different computers. The Updater driver was installed correctly, and "FES FlashLink Device" appears in my Device Manager with no warnings. The fact that the unit is detected when I try to update the firmware gives me hope that it is not defective, so can someone show me what I'm missing? Thanks!

EVO-ALL key programming reset

Installed EVO-ALL in a vehicle not realizing it didn't wouldn't monitor the factory remotes(learned my lesson of over working myself.) Anyways I got all the way up to programming and was sucessful. I've decided to put this module on my personal vehicle (2011 VW Golf) with the TB-VW. Can the key data be "deleted" so I can reprogram it to my vehicle?

how to reset evo-all

I've followed the reset directions, however the red light just stays on. No other lights blink. I plug the 4 wire black datalink connector while holding the button. The red light turns on, and i release the button. I press the button again and hold it but nothing happens. Questions: how long is it supposed to take until other lights come on? What is the other end of the Datalink cable supposed to be plugged into?

Fortin RF642W compatible with current version EVO-ALL

​ I have an EVO-ALL on order with the Flsh Link 2. I need an RF remote (2-way), but I cannot find one that list comaptiiblity with the EVO-ALL. I cannot find any info on if the Fortin RF642W will work with it. This will be instlled on a 2013 Lexus 450H (Hybrid). Any recommendation for an RF remote for the EVO-ALL would be much appreciated.

How to check if my vehicle's key has an immobilizer chip.

Just figured i would post this up as i have been asked a few times on how to test if the vehicles key has an immobilizer chip inside it.

 

Pretty simple, wrap the key in alluminum foil insert it into the ignition and try to start the vehicle. If the vehicle starts then your vehicle does not have an immobilizer.

 

Here is a picture to refrence on how this would be done.

Is it true that the EVO-ONE must be put in valet mode before programming 1WAMG6 and have firmware .96 only?

I tried calling Fortin tech support to no avail. Firstech RF Kits enabled on Remote Start via FlashLink. Unit responds to all programming cues as it should: Key on, press and hold valet button- red light blinks rapidly- Press and release valet switch once- press brake pedal once press lock on Compustar remote - no response I receive parking light confirmations throughout the entire process indicating the unit is responding to my inputs, however it will not learn the remotes. I tried programming in mode 5 also as indicated in the Fortin Guide "25121" Installed with RF converter. This is the second such installation I have performed, I had to completely abandon the EVO-ONE install the first time and install a Compustar remote start with an EVO-ALL for the customer. I really like the idea of using the EVO-ONE and really like all the Fortin Products. SOMEONE PLEASE TAKE THE MYSTERY OUT OF THE WHOLE RF KIT MYSTERY. It is really frustrating to put out such an innovative product yet Fortin has so little disclosure as to EXACTLY which RF Kits are compatible with this unit and not leave it up th the manufacturer of the RF Kit to decide whether it is compatible with your product! You have a great product here but your screwing it up by being so unhelpful about how to add an RF Kit, you really need to revise your "supported RF Kits" idea of tech support.
