Power source for the auto start

I have been unsuccessful on getting the Fortin autostart to program or work.  For some reason, while hooked up, the module doesn't have a constant, always on power source and doesn't turn on until the key is inserted and turned into the On/Run position. I have checked all of my fuses and I can't find any issues.  I have a few extra fuse locations in my truck, so can I splice a new hot wire into the red, hot wire to provide a constant power source, or will that cause problems with the ignition?  What amp fuse do I need to do this?

2015 Silverado 1500 EVO One w/THarness Remote Start Questions

Getting ready to install a EVO One with T-Harness tomorrow in a 2015 Chevy Silverado. It has a factory alarm on it with power door locks. Want to use the 3X Lock option. I have the guide that shows the T-Harness Installation and I see that I will have 3 wires to connect, in addition to the T-Harness Plugs themselves. One to the OBD II and 2 to the CANBUS. Since tech support will be closed for the Holiday’s when I get to this, I have the following questions: (1) I have the Fortin Flashlink Manager, but I need to know what options/fields that I specifically need to program and with what values. I don’t see that in the guide. (2) This is a work truck with a tool box in the bed of the truck. I would like to put a pin-switch (like the hood pin-switch) on that tool box and have it be “armed” when the Factory Alarm is armed. Is there a wire on the EVO One that I can attach that to? If so, what wire? What programming in the Fortin Flashlink Manager will need to be done? Thank you in advance for your help. John

I'm confused as to exactly what to purchase

I have a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. Work Truck.. It does have On-Star (which I don't use) I want to use my factory remote.. The truck never had the remote start. From what I've learnt, I'd use the 3X lock button on the OEM remote. Youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qYgw8yuLHk appears to be pretty simple... Doesn't meantion anything about needing a flash link or anything about "datalink" in the video so I'm not sure what i need regarding that.... Can you advise exactly what I need and if the video is accurate?
