2008 Acura mdx Cranking but sometimes not starting

2008 Acura MDX once in a while it will crank over but will not start I do not have access to the units service # at this moment

parking light wire 2008 acura mdx

2008 acura mdx with evo one installed there is a brown/ white wire coming out the 20 pin connector that has a tag on it that says for optinal parking lights i hooked it to the parking lights and it did not work, i called fortin and the gentle man told me to use the pink wire coming out the 20 pin connector the pink wire comes out the connector at one pin and goes back in at another pin am i suppost to cut this wire?? and ifso witch end do i connect to the parking light wire??
