2010 Audi Q5 climate control settings

Good day. When installing the EVO-ALL with T harness into a 2010 Audi Q5 keyport, to adjust the climate control settings when remote started, is the proper procedure to remote start the vehicle, adjust the climate control settings, then shut down the vehicle? I know that Audi is key specific, just wanted to be sure that the vehicle sees the remote starter module as a seperate key from the original two keyfobs. When one of the original keys is used to start the vehicle, the climate control settings revert back to those attached to that particular key. Thanks!
