2013 VW Beetle - 3x Lock starts then immediately stops, what gives?

Just installed the Evo All with TB-VW. Showing no key on dash. If I sit in the car and start it with the key, then remove the key and do the 3x lock, the car will start no problem. However, whenever I try to start it outside of the vehicle, it turns on and then immediately shuts off.
