stand alone evo-all does not start my Jeep

I purchased a stand alone kit for my 2011 Jeep as a stand alone unit to use the factory key fobs. It all programs up as described but after registering the key it will not start the vehicle. When I press the lock button the blue LED flashes and I can make it flash 3x but the vehicle does not even attempt to start. I read about option #15 but I purchased it as a stand alone unit. I didn't expect to have to get a flash programmer. The box also says it is a stand alone unit. What is wrong. Very frustrating. Easy install but I have redone it several times to check I did it correctly. Please help. J.
