2018 SUBARU OUTBACK (US Model) - EVO ONE - THAR-ONE-SUB1 & THAR-ONE-SUB3 - Module will not program

This is on my 2018 Subaru Outback, US model

REGULAR KEY - Automatic Transmission - No factory alarm system (from what I can tell) - Yes factory immobilizer

Remote Start: Fortin EVO One. Firmware Version: 84.12. Using Flashlink USB programmer.

Wire Harness: THAR-SUBONE-SUB1 & THAR-SUBONE-SUB3  (both SUB1 & SUB3 harnesses simultaneously I guess? Though initially unsure, I went forward & did order and installed both as shown in the diagram linked in the next line down. Specifically, on page 5 out of Ten, the page with the heading: THAR-ONE-SUB1 & THAR-ONE-SUB3 | AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONNECTION )

I made the connections as indicated on this PDF I found on your website:  https://fortin.ca/download/99401/EVO-ONE_IG_RTO_BI_SUB1-SUB3_OUTBACK_2018_KEY_A_99401.pdf

Before connecting to the car, I:

1.  connected the evo one to my laptop & ran the flashlink software.

2. The software recognized the USB programmer.

3 Then I plugged in the Evo One module & confirmed it was detected in flashlink software

4. I logged in, then input the following vehicle data: 2018 subaru outback, regular key .

5. I let the flashlink software download the newest firmware & recommended settings for the 2018 subaru outback
6. I hit the program button to send the configuration to the Evo One

7. Disconnected Evo one from the flashlink programmer & held down the programming button

8. While holding down the programming button, plugged in the 6 pin connector from the Sub-One harness, at this point installed in the car, to the Evo One

9. Continued holding down programming button while the red yellow & blue lights cycled, then released the button when the lights were lit up RED & Blue simultaneously

10. Began to press the programming button 6 times to enter the programming mode

11. However, right after the very first push of the programming button the red & blue lights would blink once & then go back to solid red & blue so I continued pushing 5 more times to get a total of 6 presses.

13. At this point, the module is blinking red & blue simultaneously 5 times in a row > pause > blink red & blue 5x again > pause > red & blue 5x blink > continues in perpetuity until I insert the vehicle key & turn it to the Ignition 2 position (2 clicks/aka accessory mode)

12. Soon as key turns to ignition 2 setting, The RED & BLUE lights both light up & stay on continuously.

13. The instructions say to start the car at this point, but turning the key from Ignition 2 to Start does not cycle the starter. No lights dim, no clicking from relays, it is not even trying to start.

14. I hold the key in start position for about 2-3 seconds, then release it back to ignition 2 which would leave the vehicle running normally if it had started at this point

15. The red & blue lights on the evo one continue to stay lit continuously & never reach the part where they flash 10 times, ostensibly because the engine never even started still which does make sense.

I guess my question is, does this have anything to do with the jumper that is shown in the PDF? I don't understand what the diagram is trying to say with the Jumper A & Jumper B section. Does the jumper in jumper A need to be removed? And then the cable in the jumper b position get plugged back into the Sub 3 harness? But only for the outback & legacy models of the car? I'm not quite clear what I'm supposed to do with the jumper A OR the Jumper B. So I just left them both plugged in.

After a while sitting in ignition 2 position with the red & blue lights lit up on the evo still, I just gave up & turned the key off then unplugged the : 5p Data link wire > 6p red plug > 20p white plug > 6p main power plug from the evo to turn it off. Then plugged it back into the flashlink programmer & attempted to see if I could do the decryptor programming anyway, but as expected I get the notification that the module never received the datalink information

I also tried reflashing the module once or twice to be sure the settings stuck, the behavior of the vehicle stays the same. I have read through about 50 of the first quiestions that were relevant to this generation subaru that I could find on here and have not seen this answered elsewhere. I hope maybe someone can advise me on what tthe jumpers do, what I should do with the jumpers in jumper A & jumper B plugs, and how they would affect, if at all, the vehicle no longer starting with the regular key

why do the factory keyfobs deprogram after installing evo one in a 2011 subaru imprezza with standard key?

I installed an evo-one (no t-harness) in a 2011 subaru imprezza, standard key. after programming and install, the factory remotes deprogrammed and would not work. I had to start the car on both keys to reprogram them. The same thing happened three days later.

2019 Crosstrek Negative Horn Wire Lead

Attempting to locate the negative wire lead from a harness below the instrument panel.  I don't have a visual reference as to what harness it would be. . .but I'm assuming its in the are of the fuse box.

The best I could find was "HORN SWITCH - CLOCK SPRING WHITE 14 PIN CONN, PIN 9", from a wire sheet for a Crosstrek XV.

Much appreciated if anyone can help.

2014 Forester w/key - I cannot get by step 4 in the setup.

When I get to step 4. I question myself of what the instructions are telling me to do. Do I press the button 6 times and pause till both red and blue flash 5 times before I press again. Mine seemed to flash gradually. Flash 2 pause, Flash 3 pause, Flash 4 pause and flash 5 pause. When I get to the end it flashes red 3 times pause and keeps repeating. The remotes don't work and I am not hooking up the hood pin. s/n 002B04 253079

Evo all Prostart 3271

08 Impreza manual trans. Wired up the evo all and pro start together,w2w connections made and double checked. The evo all is programmed for dycryptor with key successfully programmed. Flashed the suggested settings, the pro start remote programmed as well as the pro start. I can control locks etc, and it confirms ready mode on the r/s when set. If I remote start right away after shutdown, it will start fine as it should. If I set ready mode and shut down with r/s confirmation, after a min. Or so in ready mode, it will flash park lights 3 times when trying to r/s it will flash the park lights once and not try to start.

Mute horn when starting car with my cellphone

I have an Evostart 2 on my 2020 wrx 6mt base model and I'd like to know if it's possible to disable the horn when I start my car with the app? When I start it with my key (lock-unlock-lock) it starts without activating the horn but not when I use my cellphone app. The horn is loud and not neighbour-friendly. Thank you!

I've set up the Fortin evo one to work with my car, everything works as it should except for the manual transmission ready mode, I have it on 33.2 and whenever I push in the brake, lift the e brake and then let off the brake, I don't get any feedback at all from the car. The car is a 2020 wrx sti with push to start, t harness was used to install

Using THAR-ONE-SUB1 with Evo-all and aftermarket RS

Hi, Great support forum! I've learned a lot. I'm in the process of installing an "Advanced Keys" remote starter with the aftermarket push button using the Thar-one-sub1 and Evo-all. I have 2 quick questions I hope you can help with. 1) When programming the evo-all, Should I still choose "standard key", "standard connection", and "standard installation"? 2) My plan is to just cut off the evo-one connection and wire directly to the aftermarket unit. I see the 2 starters are spliced and dioded. I assume i should be fine still connecting to the 1 +starter wire from the aftermarket to the thicker yellow on the T harness? Thanks in advance, Jeff

Evo One not seeing RM411

Trying to install RM411 to increase range on Evo One from simple 3x OEM. Bypass works and car starts on OEM 3x. Never had an RF kit on this EvoOne before. Plugged in, blue light flashed on. Entered Programming mode using Valet button. Remote LED starts flashing. I press and hold RM411 remote for about 10-12 seconds as per instruction. Remote goes from Solid, to Flashing, to off, back to SOlid Blue and then I release. Antenna stops flashing as per instructions to identify that its learned the remote. I turn off ignition. Still does not work. Tried resetting Remote Start using programming mode and 23 valet button pushes method. Put Evo One back on flasher and reset remote start options for car (tachless and disable alarm). Still nothing from the remote. ALSO - I can not enter programming mode using the remote. Turning Ignition on, off, on does not give me a solid blue antenna LED to then hit brake 4x and program remote that way. Not sure of that's helpful to know. Please advise. I don't have another Evo One in stock to try right now.

How do I flash the EVO-ONE-SUB1 for remote start to be controlled by OEM key?

I am trying to flash my EVO-ONE-SUB1 for Remote Start & Alarm system for my 2015 Subaru Legacy Premium. I went through the steps selecting my car's make, model, year, selected standard key, automatic transmission, yes to alarm, and that I wanted to flash it for both Remote Start & Alarm. I was told that I would be able to operate this via my OEM Subaru Key. However, I'm on the step for OEM remote & RF Kits. I don't see an option for my Subaru Key. I only see options for other Fortin RF Kits. Please advise, I don't have an RF kit just my Subaru's key.

My remote start shuts down after a few seconds if it is hot out and the AC is on

2015 Subaru Forester. My remote start shuts down after a few seconds if it is hot out and the AC is on when the car starts. Is there a way I can prevent the remote start from shutting down? I have no issue in the winter when I leave the heat on to warm the interior however, in the summer heat, if I leave the AC on, then remote start, the car shuts down after a few seconds. Is there a way to prevent this or troubleshoot the exact fault that is occuring?

642w remote can't unlock doors while remote start is working

I'm putting Evo-One with RF642w on 2018 Subaru Forester (standard key). Doors lock and unlock with RF when remote starter is off, but once car remote started RF can't lock or unlock doors - just beeps with confirmation. Factory remote works no matter what.

I noticed thread about wiring especially light blue wire on 20pin connector. Wire is correct. (Tried switching it to other side of red wire (door lock data) cut - then doors don't work at all). Now light blue A20 and white red D6 are on BCM side and white green D4 is after cut.

2017 Subaru WRX STI EVO-ALL Transponder Bypass

We have had some issues finding the Immobiliser Data wire in a 2017 PTS Subaru WRX STI, the install guide tells us it is plug B pin 25 behind the glove box in the ECU, The ECU in this car does not have a wire in that location!, after many emails and many phone calls i was finally able to get a pinout diagram for the exact ECU in that car and it would seem the Immobilser data wire is in a different plug and different location (Still in the ECU behind the glovebox though) if we cut it the car starts for 2 seconds then dies also the key lock light on the dash illuminates, but when we wire it up to the EVO-ALL it won't read the data, we just get steady Red Blue Lights instead of the 10 red and 10 blue flashes, we can use the EVO-ALL for convienence features but not Immobiliser bypass, does anyone have any ideas or have seen this on any other subaru's using different software all help would be appreciated. Plug B "Pin 25" is the one shown in all the install guides which isn't populated in our ECU and Plug C "Pin 26" is the one shown in the Pinout diagram from Subaru. Hopefully everyone can follow my Question/Diagram!!!!

2017 Outback Doors won't lock after start up

I just finished installing an EVO ONE on a 2017 Subaru Outback Premium. Followed the install guide #57221 (pg 5). Also using the SUB T-Harness to the ignition. I went through and verified all wiring connections per the guide aswell. 3x lock start up works fine, FOB responds to button presses as expected, and I have unlock / lock car option selected to bypass factory security. Pressing foot pedal also shuts the car down. I'm using most up to date firmware across the board. The problem I am having is the doors do not lock once the car is started via remote start. I can still lock / unlock them from the remote. The EVO is also configured to lock the doors once the 15 minute runtimer is exceeded, but doesn't lock them in this instance either which obviously isn;t good if the remote start is triggered accidently. I have tried almost all combinations of lock / Unlock commands I can think of in the Flash LInk Manager menus, but nothing seems to work. One thing Ive noticed that seems odd is the security light looks like its faintly ( barely on). When I unlock the car, the security light will blink as if its been locked (is this normal, never noticed it before. Key proximity sensor?). Not sure this is related but thought I'd mention it. Any ideas what could be up?
